There is no doubt that scents can provoke feelings, spark memories, and alter our moods. What better way to help usher in the thought of the first buds of spring (even if there is still snow on the ground!) than with sweet smelling soap for your bath.

Oh, we have all been there; searching through drawers of lingerie for that one bra that won’t make you look like someone stuffed you with cotton balls, or one that doesn’t shout “I’m freezing – just look at my nipples”! Equally maddening is the elusive pair of knickers that match that perfect cute bra (that you finally uncovered!) Knowing that a well edited closet is a girls best friend, we frequently forget that a well edited lingerie wardrobe is just as important! Since we all make resolutions this time of year, why not commit to spending a Sunday afternoon sorting through your bureau drawers. Bridget and I have designed this handy checklist to help determine what you need to keep and what should go. Put on some music and have fun! xox- Gigi

First – “out with the old”!
Begin by emptying the contents of each drawer in the middle of your bed. With trash bin nearby, dispose of anything that is torn, stretched, stained, faded, or otherwise unsightly. Also, if you know that something is uncomfortable, ill-fitting or just looks terrible under your clothing, ditch it!

Next – Organize, and determine what you need.
Have a pencil and notebook at hand, and jot down what you are missing as you put the items you are keeping back in the drawers. Try lining the drawers with pretty, scented drawer paper. We recommend Soap & Paper Factory.
helpful hint: drawer dividers and clear lucite boxes help keep things orderly!

Bridget & Gigi’s Must-have Lingerie Checklist

Bras
Strapless/convertible strap bras, one in nude and one in black. Be sure that it has non-slip silicone strips; there is nothing that distracts from your beauty more than having to tug at your bra when you are wearing a beautiful gown!
We recommend the Papillon Strapless from Cosabella.

A lightly lined, plunging push-up bra. This should be worn with any deep v-necks, blouses and knits. Be sure it is a smooth micro-fiber that won’t cause any distracting bumps. Again, you should have in both nude and black.
We recommend the Marni push-up bra from Cosabella.

A great fitting t-shirt bra. Ideally, in a cotton or cotton blend, this is your best bet for basic t-shirts and your comfort clothes. It can be an underwire or have a support band, your choice depending on your size. Generally speaking, anyone with more than a B Cup should wear an underwire.

Panties
Of course personal choice plays a big factor here, but one should always have at least one of the following to “have you covered”!
Thong panties – what can we say – this is the number one choice for many of us, but definitely a must for certain garments. Be sure to have some in smooth, stretch lace that don’t cause any bumps and lumps.
We recommend the Original Hanky Panky thong.

Knickers and boy shorts
These can be your everyday go-to unders, especially comfortable under skirts and dresses. As with all undergarments, it is best not to have any visible panty line, so be sure that you find the fit that suits your body.

G-string Panty
Sometimes nothing else will do (except nothing!) If you are not willing to go panty free, be sure that the g-string is made of smooth fabric and fits like a dream.

Extras
In addition to the above, every lingerie wardrobe should include the following:
A body shaper: We recommend the original, Spanx. You will find several styles to suit your individual needs.
A slip: We recommend the Commando Mini Tank Slip from Her Look.

Finally, something really pretty: Nothing makes you feel more like a woman than wearing beautiful, sexy bras & panties. And don’t be afraid to toss in a garter belt and stockings for retro-glam!

Finally, here is the fun part! Go shopping, and remember, getting dressed in the morning will be so much more fun!

Burr! It’s been especially chilly the last few weeks, hasn’t it? If you’ve been in Sarasota lately and have been on Main Street, you’ve seen Gigi in Lotus’ store window, bundled up in her blue songbirds flannel pajamas by Bedhead .

These flannels are a must have for the holiday season- for those perfect nights you spend at home, cozied up on the couch with a hot chocolate, a movie and someone special.
